One more for the road:

A follower to his teacher:” I travelled to Mecca but did not find god there”.
The teacher: “God was travelling with you”.

it makes me wonder though about all the pairs on that ark– not just one of each species, but a pair, and in a sense a pair of opposites, as male and female are, even though we are also one, or can be…. So to me the image is of all that diversity & the energy of those opposites held in pairs and contained in the ark, on a long hero’s night sea journey, along with Noah and his wife.
I like very much howyou point out that we can understand the animals as our [many] instinctual aspects.

its beautifully written, too. Very clear language, not drawing any unnecessary attention to itself.

You might also consider the movement from B’reishit/expansion to Noach/contraction, to expansion again at the end of the parashah when they leave the Teva as inherent to the story and a mirror for all facets of life on earth.
